BOURBON & BLUEGRASS
Experience the sights, smells, and tastes of central Kentucky as we take you through the rolling countryside to tour two signature Thoroughbred horse farms for which Lexington is known as the Horse Capital of the World. First, tour world-famous Three Chimneys and their stallion division. Next take a tour at Four Roses Distillery, nestled in the Kentucky countryside on the banks of the Salt River and enjoy a complimentary tasting of this mellow bourbon. We will enjoy a delicious lunch of local fare in a scenic atmosphere and then complete your journey with a tour of a renowned Thoroughbred farm and see some of their talented stallions and their outstanding broodmares.
STALLIONS AND SHAKERS
Experience the sights, smells, and tastes of central Kentucky as we take you through the rolling countryside to visit world famous Three Chimneys Farm’s stallion complex. Take a walking tour at Three Chimneys and see the statue in honor of Seattle Slew who stood at stud at the farm for many years. Visit the breeding shed and learn about the breeding process. Tour the stallion barns and see these amazing champions up close. Complete your experience with a stop at the Three Chimneys Visitor Center. Next enjoy additional professional guided narration as you journey to historic Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill. Shaker Village is the site of America’s largest restored Shaker community. Tour the village and see craft demonstrations, a Shaker music performance, and enjoy traditional Kentucky fare in the Trustees Dining Room for lunch.

Home to the first commercial vineyard in the United States and once producer of more than half the nation’s grape and wine output, Kentucky is reclaiming its heritage and building a wine industry among the world’s best! Begin with a tour of world-famous Three Chimneys Farm’s Yearling division. See the state-of-the-art yearling sales preparation facilities including several styles of barns, rolling pastures, electric walkers, and walking rings designed based on the public sales grounds at Keeneland and Fasig-Tipton. Learn about the various techniques used to prepare yearlings for public auctionsfrom conditioning, grooming, and training stand-points. Next, visit Equus Run Vineyards, the commemorative wine for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games. Stroll through vineyards, relax in the tasting room and savor many varieties of Equus Run wine.
MAMA’S & THE PAPA’S TOUR
Get your fill of Thoroughbreds on this special tour! First, take a walking tour of the stallion division of one of our prestigious Thoroughbred farms. Visit the breeding shed and learn about the breeding process. Tour the stallion barns and see these amazing champions up close. Enjoy a scenic drive to Holly Hill Inn. Enjoy the delicious seasonal menu and beautiful surroundings. Next, tour the expansive rolling pastures and spacious foaling barns of a Broodmare Division. Learn about the foaling process and how the foals are prepared to become the next generation of champions!
HISTORIC MIDWAY TOUR
Midway is located in the northern section of Woodford county in the famous “Bluegrass” region of Kentucky, an area noted for its fine farms which produce tobacco, corn, cattle and horses. A quaint little town with fabulous food and unique shopping possibilities and lots of history and horse farms. On this tour we will take a scenic drive towards Midway and we will visit the white-fenced rolling pastures of one of our signature farms for a private tour. Next, enter the quaint town of Midway, Kentucky and receive a red carpet welcome at the historic Thoroughbred Theatre. Enjoy time on your own to browse the lovely shops and partake in a delicious lunch in downtown Midway. Enjoy guided narration during the tour and a lovely journey back to Lexington after a relaxing afternoon!
ACRES OF LAND WINERY TOUR, TASTING & DINNER
Enjoy an evening of breathtaking scenery, fine wine, and great food - Kentucky style! Blue Grass Tours will comfortably take you to award-winning Acres of Land Winery in Richmond, Kentucky for a lovely evening among the rolling hills. Take a tour of the winery production building, savor a tasting of 3 wines, and have a delicious dinner of in the Acres of Land restaurant. Enjoy a house salad, choice of three entrees: Vermicelli with Vignoles Wine Sauce or Grilled Salmon or Pork Chop with Vidal Blanc mushroom cream sauce, choice of two sides, and a dessert: Banana Pudding or New York Style Cheesecake. Come relax and relish the beauty of a Kentucky evening and fine dining.
ROOD & RIDDLE EQUINE HOSPITAL
Enjoy a special 3 hour tour with a visit to Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital and see their state-of-the-art facility. Rood & Riddle is a full-service equine hospital known and respected throughout the world for innovative and highly skilled treatment of horses and offers a full range of services including surgery, internal medicine, advanced diagnostic imaging, a focused Podiatry Center and specialized Reproductive Center. The practice also provides ambulatory services for emergencies, preventative care, general reproduction, radiography, and medical care and treatment at the horse’s barn or stable. After touring this wonderful equine hospital, we will visit a signature Thoroughbred farm for a private tour to see these beautiful horses up close!
BOYD’S & THOROUGHBREDS
Lexington is known for its beautiful farms from horses to agriculture - the whole family can come experience both on this special tour! First tour one of our signature Thoroughbred horse farms for a private look at these champions! Next we will visit Boyd Orchards, an agritainment farm owned by a family of 5th generation fruit growers. Enjoy a hayride and their homemade cider and doughnuts. The children can play on their large, unique playground and the whole family can browse the fresh produce and gifts available in their gift shop.
