Big South Fork Railroad Excursion

This very special tour will include the following:
· An excursion on the Big South Fork Railway. A 16 mile round trip on the 100 year old Kentucky & Tennessee Railway. Known as the “Route of the Painted Rocks”, this ride is full of spectacular views of lush vegetation and free flowing mountain streams as you travel through the Daniel Boone National Forest and the Big South Fork NRRA. The train makes a stop at Blue Heron Coal Mining Camp where “ghost structures” help interpret the story of this coal camp which was built in 1937. At Blue Heron your lunch will be waiting to enjoy before you explore the camp.
